Donald at the Bat – Day 999, I Don’t Know Them (parody to “You Don’t Know Me”)

Day 999, I Don’t Know Them  (1)

They gave big checks to me which helped in my campaign,

Then they both dug for dirt on Biden in Ukraine,

So, anyone could tell, you’d think I knew them well

But I don’t know them, (no, I don’t know them.)

No, I don’t know the ones that Rudy likes to use

To manufacture myths, to help me light a fuse;

It’s Giuliani’s deal; let’s hope that they don’t squeal.

And, I don’t know them, (no, I don’t know them.)

Bridge:

The pictures you’ve seen do not prove anything;

I take pictures with everyone.

My base will buy, I did not know these guys,

Or what these two men might have done.

They gave big checks to me and then they disappeared,

The stories you have read are fake news engineered.

These two Ukranians are Rudy’s hired guns

And I don’t know them.

Bridge repeat:

The pictures you’ve seen, do not prove anything.

I take pictures with everyone.

My base will buy, I did not know these guys,

Or what these two men might have done.

They gave big checks to me and then we shared a meal.

Ask Rudy to explain, for this was Rudy’s deal.

These semi-Russian guys, no one should dramatize,

For I don’t know them.  (I don’t know them.)

(1)  You Don’t Know Me was written by Cindy Walker in 1955 and first recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1956.  My favorite recording of this song was by Ray Charles.
