Day 1059, Time’s Person of the Year
Time Magazine named Greta Thunberg, “Person of the Year.”
The Narcissist-in-Chief, incensed, sent out a nasty tweet.
His ego-driven jealousy has come through loud and clear.
In Trump’s mind, he’s “Man of the Year.” No others can compete.
Though Greta’s just sixteen, she understands that climate change
Will threaten our whole way of life, which Donald Trump decries.
She understands the science; Trump does not; so, is it strange
Time Magazine did not reward Trump for what he denies?
Should Donald Trump be honored just because he’ll be impeached?
Or, should they honor Putin? He tells Donald what to do.
Or, maybe right-wing preachers for obeisance they have preached?
Instead, a child shall lead them and the truth will have its due. (1)
So, Greta Thunberg has been named Time’s “Person of the Year.”
A wise choice and so well-deserved: let’s all stand up and cheer.
