Donald at the Bat – Day 1384, Armed Only With Ballots

Day 1384, Armed Only with Ballots

Like David, carved by Michelangelo,

No sword and spear, just ballots we can cast,

We feel our sense of resolution grow,

To tell the tyrant, “You have breathed your last.”

The threat not difficult to analyze,

A single, brave, strong hero will not do.

To face the tyrant, everyone must rise;

The challenge falls to me; it falls to you.

We have our ballots; David had his sling.

From just a sling and stone, the giant fell.

To stand up to the man who would be king,

We’ll cast our votes and bid the man, “Farewell.”

The would-be tyrant seeks autocracy;

It’s up to us to save democracy.
