Donald at the Bat – Day 1396, A Dog in the Manger (parody to ‘Away in the Manger’)

Day 1396, A Dog in the Manger  (1)

A dog in the manger, that son of a bitch,

Good old Mitch McConnell, the friend of the rich.

His talent, obstruction, except for one thing,

Confirming new judges who are all right wing.

With Mitch in the Senate, no House bills will pass.

We’ll stay constipated, near total impasse.

Our folks are all dying from Covid 19

But Mitch doesn’t care and his conscience is clean.

That’s tough for Joe Biden, with Mitch in control;

He won’t pass relief bills, his heart black as coal.

Some turn to Lord Jesus in their hour of woe

But what can Christ do when McConnell says, “No.”?

(1)  May be sung to “Away in a Manger.”  The origin of the words is uncertain and there are lots of variations.  The two most popular melodies are by William J. Kirkpatrick, 1895 and James Ramsey Murray, 1887.
