October 3, JD Vance’s Calculation

It’s hard to know what Vance believes, for he says different things.
Now that he’s Trump’s vice-presidential candidate, he sings
The standard Trumpist liturgy and lies, all in support
Of Donald’s presidential bid (to keep him out of court.)

Vance was a “never Trumper,” when Trump ran back in ‘16.
And, after his first term, Vance couldn’t swallow Trump’s cuisine. (1)
In JD’s Senate race in ‘22, he fell in line
With GOP irrationality and crap bovine.

It seems that JD picked a very good time to convert,
For Trump likes folks who, “come to Donald,” willing to pervert,
Their principles and ethics and line up to kiss his ass
And swear they’re smelling French perfume when Donald passes gas.

If Donald gets elected and JD becomes his Veep,
Then he can sit and wait for Donald Trump’s dementia creep,
To make it clear to everyone that he’s become unfit,
Then Vance will be made president, as Trump is forced to quit. (2)

Is this how JD thinks, is this how JD calculates,
That all he has to do is wait while Trump self-immolates?
We see Trump’s mind collapsing, hear word salad in his speech.
Dementia like this won’t improve; (not even with strong bleach.) (3)

And Donald Trump is getting old, might Vance consider that?
Poor Donald’s age may take him out. He’s also much too fat.
Though Lindsey Graham also changed, he’s just too short for Trump.
So, JD got the nod for Veep and waits for Trump to crump.

Who cares what JD Vance believes? It’s power that he seeks.
His motives understandable, that’s why his lying reeks.
He’s coming out; he’s rolled the dice. As Julius Caesar said, (4)
“The die is cast;” the river crossed, but Caesar wound up dead.

(3) You might recall that Trump recommended bleach as a Covid treatment.
(4) Caesar supposedly said, “Alea jacta est,” when he led his army across the Rubicon on his way to Rome. In his bid to become dictator, he was assassinated by political opponents in the Senate. This resulted in a civil war and Octavian, his nephew, won and became Augustus, the first Imperator (Emperor) of Rome.
