June 28, Standing For America’s Plutocracy (parody to “Standing On The Promises of God” hymn)

June 28, Standing For America’s Plutocracy (1)

Standing for America’s plutocracy,

Thankful for our melanin deficiency,

Comfortable with GOP hypocrisy,

Standing proudly with the GOP.

Chorus:  Standing, standing,

For our Constitutional plutocracy.

Standing, standing,

With the Trumpists in the GOP.

Fetuses are blessed by God when egg meets sperm.

After that, they must be carried ‘til full-term.

Rape and incest, not exceptions, we stand firm.

Standing proudly with the GOP.

Chorus:  Standing, standing…

Standing for a government of old white men,

It’s too soon to let the colored people in.

We should be a nation of the “born again.”

Standing proudly with the GOP.

Chorus: Standing, standing…

We revere the Founding Fathers’ memory

And the values of the 18th century.

Isn’t it enough we ended slavery?

No thanks to the Trumpist GOP.

Chorus: Standing, standing,

For our Constitutional plutocracy.

Standing, standing,

Rooted in the 18th century.

  • May be sung to, “Standing On the Promises of God,” written by Russel Kelso Carter in 1886. He was a multi-talented man, athlete, scientist, professor, novelist, and songwriter.  It has been recorded many times.
