Bow to your lord and master; Donald Trump requires your praise.
To comment on the Donald, use a laudatory phrase.
His ego is so fragile that, if criticized, he’ll sue.
For Trump requires, Hosannas! He thinks that they are his due.
Poor Donald is so sensitive, he must suppress the press.
If they print things he doesn’t like, then he will seek redress.
He’ll file lawsuits for defamation, as now in Des Moines;
Print something that displeases him, he’ll kick you in the groin.
If Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee for FBI’s approved,
He’ll prosecute Trump’s “enemies,” though no crime may be proved.
Liz Cheney is a target; Trump says she belongs in jail.
Her crime was blasphemy, a non-subservient female.
Trump wants us all to fear him, hence his frivolous lawsuits.
He’ll make up lots of charges that all evidence refutes.
For all of Donald’s lifetime, he has been a fabulist.
Though well-known as a liar, Donald Trump cannot desist.
The January 6th assault, a praiseworthy result
Of patriotic fervor: Trumpists shouting, “Deus vult!” (1)
For Congress to investigate and charge Trump with a crime
Can never be forgiven; all those people must do time.
So, members of the press, gird up your loins, prepare to fight.
For you will risk your fortune when you bring Trump’s sleaze to light.
We know Trump is litigious; he has spent his life in court.
Intimidating, idiotic suits, for him, a sport.
Republicans have bent the knee, all cowering in dread.
Tech billionaires give millions, to pat Donald on the head.
The first move of dictators is the quashing of dissent.
Will freedom of the press succumb? That’s clearly Trump’s intent.
(1) Deus vult! Latin for “God wills it!” This was a phrase uttered by Pope Urban II at the Council of Clermont, in 1095 and was subsequently chanted by the warriors of the First Crusade in 1096 as they set off to “free the Holy Land” from the infidels. The Wikipedia article is instructive. One might also note that Trump’s nominee to be Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has this phrase tattooed on his arm. Some of his writings indicate that he anticipates a holy war in the near future.
