April 4, Three Crimes of the Human Race

 

The evidence of war crimes in Ukraine:

The dead civilian bodies in the street,

Dead bodies, mass graves, and a bloody stain,

The trail of Russian soldiers in retreat.

 

Mass shooting: this time in the Golden State.

Six dead, twelve wounded: that’s the toll so far.

Our death from guns pandemic won’t abate

Because, statistics say, that’s who we are.

 

Misogynistic, racist GOP:

Not one committee vote for KBJ.

They’re playing to their base’s bigotry,

For their electorate thinks that’s okay.

 

War crimes, mass shootings, plain old bigotry:

Should our Creator hide his face in shame?

Recurring themes throughout our history…

Whose fault is this?  We have ourselves to blame.
