One hundred days have come and gone with Donald Trump in charge.
One hundred days we’ve been led by a felon still at large.
He’s made a show of deportations; trade wars rage worldwide.
The orders that he’s issued constitute “democracide.”
First quarter economic numbers: GDP has shrunk.
Zero-point three percent decline, all markets in a funk.
His tariffs made the markets sink; the government’s been wrecked
As Elon Musk and DOGE raged through our agencies unchecked.
And now, Trump’s after all our research universities,
He says for antisemitism but that’s just a tease.
Trump doesn’t like basic research and therefore, scientists
They often contradict him, which offends all narcissists.
Now Harvard leads the universities as they fight back.
Their Jewish faculty has joined in their counterattack.
For, medical research will suffer (which kept Trump alive.) (1)
Trump’s head of HHS has medicine in a nosedive.
Is RFK Trump’s way of poking science in the eye?
The measles now is spreading, and we’ve watched two children die.
The kids now catching measles and the two who have just died,
Had not been vaccinated; scientists are horrified.
For, RFK’s an anti-vaxxer and he will not yield.
He’ll stall new vaccine trials with the power he can wield.
As Trump wrecks the economy and Bobby wrecks our health,
What are their motivations? We guess ego, power, and wealth.
Trump does not think of serving but to dominate, control.
He values his opinions; to control is in his soul.
Trump distrusts expertise; his peristalsis guides his acts.
He is not bound by any laws or scientific facts.
So, in these hundred days, Trump has created a huge mess.
His attitude means more will come, what all the pundits guess.
For, frankly, Trump is overmatched; society’s complex.
Trump, thinking only of himself, means multiple train wrecks.
(1) During his first term, Trump fell severely ill with Covid 19. He received the very best, scientifically developed medical care. His doctors did not use Ivermectin or Clorox.
