Vladimir Putin, Humanitarian?

Steve Witkoff’s vision can’t be clear,
For, face to face with Vladimir,
He said in words that seemed sincere,
“You’re a humanitarian.” (1)

Steve needs a new optometrist,
Perhaps a psychotherapist,
Or else a sociologist,
Vlad’s a totalitarian.

As everyone must now suspect,
We must conclude Steve’s words reflect
The fading of Trump’s intellect,
A dim octogenarian.

Was this part of Trump’s diesel sale
That made Steve Witkoff’s vision fail?
To let an old man out of jail…
A septuagenarian.

A teacher living in Ukraine
Whom Vlad decided to detain,
Released to show he was humane:
It was utilitarian.

Ukrainians carve more headstones,
As Trump helps Putin pay for drones.
A way the Don can “make his bones,” (2)
The new authoritarian.

Now Putin can afford to bomb
And he can do so with aplomb,
For he holds Donald in his palm,
A criminal vulgarian.

And Trump and Musk turned down “Starshield,” (3)
So Putin’s rockets stay concealed
And Ukraine is a killing field
For Putin, the barbarian.

So, how can anyone believe,
(And, “anyone” includes you, Steve,) (4)
And Donald, when he does his “weave,” (5)
That Vlad’s “humanitarian?”

(1) At a meeting in St. Petersburg, Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy, along
with Jared Kushner, told Putin on TV, he was a “humanitarian.”
(2) The term, “to make his bones,” is used in the underworld to refer to the first
time a budding mobster kills someone.
(3) Elon Musk’s “Starlink” satellite system has been sold or rented out to
countries so they can detect incoming rockets when they’re attacked.
Somebody: Musk or Trump or both, briefly turned off the “Starshield”
system so Ukraine could no longer use it. Fingers were pointed both ways
when the press reported the story..
(4) Steve Witkoff, who made the original statement.
(5) Trump refers to his blithering as “the weave.” “Word salad” is a closer term.
