Trump’s narcissism is a quag in which our nation’s mired,
Just like the bog at Bannockburn, where Edward’s troops expired. (1)
Trump’s building himself monuments because he knows we won’t;
Crass aggrandizement of himself, we know, is Donald’s wont.
Trump knocked down part of our White House to build his golden room.
He’s redone the Reflecting Pool where blue-green algae bloom.
And now he’s planning a huge arch for our “security.”
But all the reasons he has given strain credulity.
The Center named for Kennedy, a theater for Ford, (2)
Both candidates to be renamed, strike a discordant chord.
Trump’s tantrum over Kennedy is a sight to behold,
For opposition has been firm in all those who’ve been polled.
Trump gave a lavish dinner for the Chinese “emperor,” (3)
The other guests, all billionaires, without one commoner.
The Chinese press were all invited into the event,
But our reporters were kept out, which was no accident.
Trump wants to be like Xi Jinping, that is, lord over all,
Who shuts out criticism, imitating Xi’s Great Wall. (4)
Because three networks won’t kowtow, Trump has kept these three out. (5)
A judge ruled, “Let them in,” an order we’ve all seen Trump flout.
Trump wants an oligarchy where he’s sitting at the head,
Democracy and voting, passe’, time they’re put to bed.
Democracy means people power; Trump wants none of that.
If voting’s fair, the people might elect a Democrat.
As Trump’s name goes up everywhere, approval ratings sink.
His MAGAs melt away, the folks that Donald can hoodwink.
He’s broken all his promises on prices and on war.
And every day Trump voters say, “…not what we voted for.”
