The folks designing AI think they may have gone too far.
It’s getting independent and may need an “AI Czar.”
Front line computer geeks tell us we need to regulate,
Which billionaires and Donald Trump refuse to stipulate.

What human jobs can AI do, so we might be replaced?
What new jobs might AI create for those who’ve been displaced?
Can AI help us with world peace or will it cause more war?
Will we be better or worse off than in the days of yore?

AI, as an assistant, can help with a lot of things:
To search the literature, program, and manage data strings,
If you’re lazy, write your papers, (but you won’t learn to write,)
And, be advised, not everything that AI writes is right.

Now OpenAI has revealed its system tried four hacks (1)
Of other programs to find facts that OpenAI lacks.
Does this imply that it’s too late for closing the barn door?
A horse is loose and clomping down a slick hospital floor. (2)

Now, ask if there is anybody in our government,
Computer literate enough to trust with management
Of this new enterprise, to handle every billionaire,
Intelligently with finesse, and not be doctrinaire?

Does Trump have the intelligence to name an “AI Czar?”
If loyalty to him comes first, results might be bizarre.
Trump’s interest is money flowing to his bank account,
And how AI tech could assure an ever-flowing fount.

AI is here to stay and not content to just play chess.
Its “parents” ask for discipline; their voices show their stress.
Our current office holders don’t inspire much confidence.
For, who among the lot of them exhibits competence?
