Trump has shown us who he is; and he showed us who we are.
He put us all on trial in his campaign to be Tsar.
The voters have decided to give Donald one more shot.
How long will they stay with him, when they see what they have wrought?

Though it was clear to lots of us that Donald was unfit.
His base remained behind him, though some knew he’s counterfeit.
Joe’s disapproval ratings were too high to overcome,
Though Trump’s a crazy crook, that did not change the sad outcome.

Misogyny, racism, ignorance all played their parts,
Inflation more important than the soaring Dow Jones charts,
A feeling that the government’s not working well “for me,”
All worked to help the Donald sell dishonest alchemy.

So, now we’ll have to wait until Trump really makes a mess,
And that is very likely, as an educated guess.
Trump tells us, in the coming term, the rule of law is toast;
He’ll weaponize the DOJ; his “enemies” will roast.

Now, Trump will start his process to become an autocrat.
We must believe he’ll try, for he has said precisely that.
In this specific case, what Donald said is not a lie.
To clean the mess that Trump will make will take strong alkali.

Think of the FDA when RFK is put in charge,
The cost of all commodities with Trump’s tariff surcharge,
The DOE dismantled, global warming cooking us,
Such chaos will result when Donald fires his blunderbuss.

So, as we sit and wait for Donald’s shit to hit the fan,
Remember that we voted for this narcissistic man.
And here’s a point to ponder, though Trump won the total vote,
There are important numbers, of which we should all take note.

Trump’s total votes in 2020 and in ‘24,
Were numbers near identical, his campaign won no more. (74 million)
But Harris got 12 million fewer than Joe got before, (69 vs 81 million)
Because she lost white women and, of course, she lost white men.

The numbers tell us Harris lost when voters stayed at home.
And now, here comes autocracy from Trump’s Y chromosome.
For, when we simply sit and watch, democracy won’t work.
It is our fault; our laziness gave victory to this jerk.
