Today’s Insurrection Memorial Day,
For Trumpists, it’s a new (red state) holiday.
The Congress convenes, certifying the vote,
With the Trumpists all shouting, “Hip, hip, hooray!”

As Donald Trump’s ego continues to bloat,
The Congress hands Biden his hat and his coat.
As Donald takes over and Biden must leave,
We hear Trump proclaiming that he is the GOAT. (1)

We wonder what Donald Trump has up his sleeve.
Will he give the nation more reasons to grieve?
And quiet all critics with loud threats to sue?
Trump’s chaos is coming, what should we believe?

Will history show us there’s reason to rue
That the DOJ failed to put Donald through
Indictment and trial for his bald-faced crime?
We had a good chance to bid Donald adieu.

To stay out of jail, Donald ran one more time,
His style of campaigning, the new paradigm.
Appealing to the super wealthy and poor,
Though everything’s painted with a coat of slime.

Trump showed us all he’s an impenitent boor;
A man who gives off a strong criminal spoor.
But our angry voters still bought Donald’s pitch,
And left our democracy quite insecure.

We all know that Donald’s a son of a bitch,
Who will use his office to favor the rich,
By telling them all, if they pay, they can play.
Are your sphincter muscles now starting to twitch?

Today’s Insurrection Memorial Day.
The voters told Donald, “OK, you can stay.”
The Congress convened and the vote’s certified.
Now, what is the price that our planet must pay?
