The Eric Adams scandal has exposed Trump’s DOJ, (1)
For six long-term attorneys have resigned in just one day.
Another followed shortly to protest a quid pro quo,
To make sure Adams will support Trump’s immigration show.

Indictments will be dropped but Eric Adams must play ball,
An outrage to those who resigned; the deal made their skins crawl.
Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan joked about it on TV.
When Trump was asked about involvement, he replied, “Who, me?”

Corruption stench has filled the air from east to western shore…
Observers know when Trump’s in power, we’ll get more and more.
For Trump regards the DOJ as his own private firm,
A novel concept that should make all ethics teachers squirm.

With Trump controlling DOJ, Pam Bondi and Bove (2)
Can be depended on to do whatever Trump may say.
They’ll persecute and prosecute whomever Trump may name,
Thereby reducing justice to a simple power game.

What’s most surprising in this deal is no attempt to hide
The squeeze on Eric Adams, (though as usual, Donald lied.)
But Homan and Bove have made the case open and shut:
That Adams must aid “ICE,” or Homan will crawl “up his butt.” (3)

Trump’s weaponized “his” DOJ, which should be no surprise.
Dictators always do this; total power is the prize.
With no fear of impeachment from his Trumpist Congressmen,
Trump’s prosecution of the press is now not “if?” but “when?”

(1) Eric Adams, currently Mayor of New York City, who was under indictment for corruption.
(2) Pam Bondi, Attorney General, Emil Bove, Acting Deputy Attorney General. Both were appointed by Donald Trump. Bove defended Trump in his trials last year in New York. (He lost.)
