When Donald Trump was president,
Then we impeached him twice.
And now that he is coming back,
Will we impeach him thrice?
Convicted of all sorts of crimes,
Three dozen felonies, (2)
But still we brought him back again
With all his villainies.
As Donald Trump names his Cabinet,
We gasp in disbelief.
It seems his purpose is to drive
Democracy to grief.
Some names are clear absurdities
And some are just insane.
And if the Senate confirms them all
We’re circling the drain.

First pick was Senator Rubio;
He was a hopeful sign.
For he knows foreign policy,
And colleagues like him fine.
But Kash Patel at FBI
Gives folks a stomachache.
He says his purpose is revenge
And lists the steps he’ll take.

Will Donald’s inauguration crowd
Be of sufficient size?
If there is empty space again,
Will he fill it with lies?
He’s threatening tariffs on Day One,
On neighbors, North and South.
We’re not sure that he’ll do it, for
He likes to run his mouth.
Will celebrations dominate
Or protests rule the day?
If there are protests everywhere,
Then what will Donald say?
Will he send in his nominees,
Let Senators assess?
Or will he try appointments when
The Senators recess?

First pick was Senator Rubio.
But looking after him,
For competence on Donald’s list,
The pickings look quite slim.
For Hegseth at the DOD
Is known for sex abuse;
Then throw in public drunkenness
And Trump has no excuse.

Meet Stefanik, Makary, Ramaswamy, and Musk,
Duffy, McMahon, Nesheiwat, and Wright,
Huckabee, Doctor Oz, Budowich, Chronister,
RFK, Junior? (Oh, that can’t be right.)
Zeldin for EPA, Gabbard for DNI, (3)
Bondi, for AG, Hegseth, DOD, (4)
Oh, God, Stephen Miller, Weldon for CDC, (5)
Homan, Pete Hoekstra, and Vought, OMB. (6)

So, gird up your loins, for here comes Trump;
He’s thirsting for revenge.
To hear him speak, we know his mind
Just swings on one loose hinge.
Spectacular incompetence
And sexual abuse
Describe a lot of nominees
That Trump wants to set loose.
