When Donald Trump takes over, then the cost of food will rise.
From tariffs he’s proposing, rising costs are no surprise.
With energy from Canada and food from Mexico,
Trump’s tariffs on their products leave costs just one way to go.
Economists all warn us tariffs will make prices worse.
But Trump was a poor student, so his claim is the reverse.
Trump’s narcissism tells him he must have complete control.
Since tariffs are his to control, they speak to Donald’s soul.
The people want low prices; Donald Trump wants total power,
So, Trump embraces tariffs, though inflation storm clouds lower.
The Congress must pass formal trade agreements into law
But to the legislative process, Trump says, “Humbug! Bah!”
Trump caused another problem: his appointees’ competence.
His sole criterion is this: he must have confidence
In his appointees’ loyalty: they’ll kowtow and obey.
Their independent judgement never should come into play.
Trump’s tariffs and appointments tell us all we need to know.
He wants to be our autocrat, so no one tells him, “No!”
He wants to be like Putin, Orban, Erdogan, and Xi,
Then maybe next, he’ll run the world; that’s Donald’s fantasy.
So, Trump will levy tariffs and inflation will return.
And then, will Trump dump NATO? That’s another bridge to burn.
Trump doesn’t keep agreements; he is known for grift and fraud.
He doesn’t need advice since no one gives advice to God.
What will our Trumpists do when prices do not drop but rise?
They’ll know what they are paying, facts that can’t be changed by lies.
Trump also plans to quash dissent; dictators always do.
Does what just happened to Assad await the Donald too?
