April 6, Trump’s Lucidity

While Donald sings, “Heigh, ho, be merry-o,” (1)
His actions are singing, “Stupidity,”
Much worse than the worst-case scenario,
We wonder about his lucidity.

Trump says he’ll bring back manufacturing
By forcing it all back from overseas.
Meanwhile, our economy’s fracturing,
And Trump blithely ignores the indices.

Trump still has support from his MAGAtree;
Their loyalty’s almost devotional.
That he cares for them is illusory,
Their faith misguided and emotional.

Trump’s cabinet was picked for loyalty;
None nominated for their competence.
So, wise decisions are a casualty,
As Donald strives for his omnipotence.

Trump’s MAGAtree does not mind fraudulence.
But now they must think of insanity,
Negligence, truculence, and flatulence,
For now, they must deal with reality.

With Donald Trump as impresario,
He’s crashing the whole world’s economy.
It’s worse than the worst-case scenario,
All caused by Trump’s immoral alchemy. (2)

Is Trump doing this for emoluments? (3)
Must nations of the world negotiate
The price they must pay until he relents?
A warning: Trump might “re-negotiate.” (4)

(1) These are rhyming syllables, based on the children’s song, The Farmer in the Dell. “…be merry-o,” is substituted for “derry-o.”
(2) What principle can justify taking Medicaid away from poor people to give the rich a tax break they don’t need? How will this magically make everything better?
(3) Emoluments for government officials are a major, Constitutional no, no. See Article I, Section 9, Clause 8.
(4) Ask Canada and Mexico about the Trade Agreement they negotiated with Trump in his first administration.
