With Elon wielding his chainsaw and Trump his wrecking ball,
They’ll keep destroying everything, until they’ve wrecked it all.
What do they think they’ll have remaining over which to rule,
With arts, world trade, and science covered o’er with Donald’s stool?

Trump’s peristalsis, Musk’s chainsaw fill up the septic tank,
Destruction indiscriminate: and we know whom to thank.
We’re alienating the whole world and everyone who thinks.
When will Republicans wake up and recognize it stinks?

Trump makes enemies of allies, backs Putin in Ukraine,
What once was confidence in us is circling the drain.
Attacking higher education, using the excuse
Of fighting antisemites has put knowledge in a noose.

Trump doesn’t like the knowledge universities create.
He wants to say what’s true and false, no data-based debate.
For scientific research shows how nature really works,
While Trump would rather stick with theories of some crackpot jerks.

We know that Trump’s inimical to other’s expertise.
For scientists, economists expose whims and caprice.
Trump’s goal is simply to amass more money and more power.
And to accomplish this he needs the rest of us to cower.

So, colleges are organizing to resist his whims.
First, Harvard, and now more and more, are risking lives and limbs.
Trump threatens to cut off their funds to make them bend the knee.
He tells them, “I’m the boss; your sole allegiance is to me.”
