Our oil companies swim in cash; we thirst for fossil fuel,
The sad result of Donald’s and the Ayatollahs’ duel.
The Strait of Hormuz, closed by them, and now by our blockade,
Has raised gas prices everywhere, the mess that Donald made.

With fertilizer, gasoline, jet fuel in short supply,
The world knows where to place the blame; it’s mostly on one guy.
He’s Donald Trump, who has torn up the JCPOA,
Obama’s treaty with Iran; the world’s in disarray.

The problem with Obama’s treaty was, Barack is black.
Trump is a well-known bigot; naturally, he’d take it back.
Iran revived its program to make U235, (1)
Obama left it moribund but Trump helped it revive.

Along with Bibi Netanyahu, Donald bombed Iran.
Surprise, surprise, Iran fought back; that wasn’t in Trump’s plan.
Assuming Donald had a plan, why was the likelihood
Iran would close the Hormuz Strait so poorly understood?

It looks like Donald screwed the pooch, in fact the whole dog pound.
For Donald seemed surprised at the resistance that he found.
Has “General Bone Spurs” been shown unqualified to lead? (2)
He had no military training. Why would he succeed?

There is a way out of this mess, for solar power is clean.
With more and more electric cars, we’d need less gasoline.
With solar and wind energy, the oil sheiks’ grip would slip
And free the world’s economy from Donald’s statesmanship.

(1) U235 is more “fissible” than U238, the most common isotope of Uranium.
When the U235 nucleus is struck by a neutron, it is likely to split and emit
more neutrons, which will start a chain reaction. When U238 is hit by a
neutron, it is more likely to just absorb it without splitting. The splitting
releases a lot of energy: boom!
