“The Boss Wants This Money”

Trump’s shaking down big companies like no one’s done before.
What do they get for their “donations”? Trump asks them for more.
Soliciting the billionaires, dictating the amount,
He wants their cash and has assured a never ending fount.

He uses it for his pet projects: arches, big ballrooms,
Reminding us of ancient pharaohs, pyramids, and tombs.
Will Trump’s tomb look just like King Tut’s? Will Trump be mummified?
Will there be golden treasures, which Trump will not try to hide?

Trump puts his name up everywhere, on obelisks and walls.
There’s no resistance to the Don, for damn few have the balls.
Now, if you run a business, he’ll ask, “What’s in it for me?”
And, if you want the monarch’s favor, he’ll charge you a fee.

Oil companies make bigger bucks because Trump bombed Iran.
They all raised prices at the pump because they know they can.
Will prices come back down again? A little, in a while.
Meanwhile, the biggest oil execs light up cigars and smile.

In Trump’s White House, it’s pay to play; big business must kick in.
Corruption’s in the open, which, for Trump’s, no mortal sin.
Ask Ellison and Zuckerberg and Bezos; they all know.
To run their business in Trumpland, you cannot tell him, “No.”

Miss Meredith O’Rourke is Donald’s fundraiser in chief.
She calls the boys, dictates amounts; from her, there’s no relief.
“The boss wants this money:” her opening and closing line.
As Trump’s “princess of darkness;” she’s his personal gold mine.

For those who pay their taxes, here is Donald Trump’s New Deal.
If government gives services, there’s less for him to steal.
Embezzlement requires some liquid cash left in the till,
So Donald Trump can drink his fill and we pick up the bill.

Since Meredith is on the phone each morning, noon, and night,
Collecting Trump’s “mordida,” which translates, “a little bite,”
The Trump ideal of government is working fine, so far.
He builds himself big monuments, as would befit the “Tsar.”
