March 25, Who Does Donald Trump Serve?

Trump has no concept of service to others.
And he shows lack of respect for our laws,
We’ve read of him cheating sisters and brothers.
We can’t dismiss these as just minor flaws.

Just serving himself is Donald’s objective.
Increasing his wealth and power, his goal.
We’ve learned that the monarch’s total perspective,
Is that he must be in total control.

Trump just can’t abide review from our judges,
Injunctions issued on laws that he flouts.
Now, publicly, Donald propagates grudges;
He’s treated unfairly; he has no doubts.

Imagine wild horses let loose in hospitals (1)
Or think of bulls loose in a China shop.
Those who feel panic, are not Chicken Littles. (2)
Outrages come every day, it’s non-stop.

Autocracy, Donald’s well-known obsession:
He’s fixated on his pathway to “tsar.”
He’s acting with unparalleled aggression;
He thinks he should be our nation’s north star.

We’ve learned that the Trumpist concept of service,
Encompasses only us serving him.
Understanding that fact ought to unnerve us;
It makes prospects for democracy grim.

The form of government Donald’s extolling
Illustrates Trump’s definition of “fair.”
“Fair” means Donald’s absolutely controlling
Everything, everywhere, land, sea, and air.

(1) The concept of a horse loose in a hospital comes from the comedian, John Mulaney.
(2) Chicken Little is a character in a children’s story about a chick that concluded the sky is falling after being hit on the head by a falling acorn. The idea is to not make a big deal out of trivialities. Is Trump’s threat to democracy trivial?
