Now Donald Trump’s conflicted; should he help to bomb Iran?
Should he ally with Israel and show them he’s The Man?
He says he’ll say within two weeks what he decides to do.
In past announcements, Trump’s “two weeks” meant “never,” that’s a clue.
“Two weeks,” mean Donald’s waiting to see which way the wind blows,
Or what his own gut tells him, using both his ears and nose.
His MAGAts are divided, leaving Donald at a loss:
How can he take Fox News’ advice and still look like the boss?
Back when Iran was Persia and was ruled by Darius, (1)
The kingdom was aggressive; now it’s more precarious.
Back then they fought against the Greeks and lost at Marathon. (2)
Today it’s Jews in Israel that they fixate upon. (3)
The problem on the table: can Iran acquire “The Bomb?”
And, if they do go nuclear, will Israel stay calm?
Well, Bibi has shown everyone; his answer is, “Attack!” (4)
And, as expected, the Iranians are fighting back.
While Israel’s attacking mostly military sites,
Iran hits homes and hospitals with missile and drone flights.
Right now, his loyal base all still support Trump’s bigotry.
Will risking lives to help the Jews inspire the MAGAtry?
“Iran must never get the bomb,” Trump’s very clear on that.
But sending soldiers over there? He’s wary of combat.
And dropping “bunker busters” where they’re making fissile stuff, (5)
Will tell the world that Donald will do more than huff and puff.
Iran still has resources; lots of people don’t like Jews
And willing Muslim terrorists are often on the news.
Their targets are abundant; we can’t harden every site.
So, joining in a Mideast War won’t be the final fight.
Diplomacy must have a chance, Trump’s giving it two weeks.
But is peace or making headlines what Donald really seeks?
It’s easier to send “his” troops to our blue city streets.
The Democrats fight back in court where Trump ignores defeats.
(1) Darius the Great reigned from 522-486 BCE.
(2) The Battle of Marathon, 490 BCE, was a victory for Athens, stopping a Persian invasion by Darius.
(3) The religious leadership of Iran has said many times that it wants to wipe Israel off the map.
(4) Benjamin Netanyahu, longest serving Prime Minister of Israel, is widely known as “Bibi.” After the October 2023 raid into Israel by Hamas, Bibi has turned Gaza into rubble.
(5) U235 must be enriched to about 90% to make an atomic bomb. Lower percentage mixtures with U238, the most common isotope, are suitable for power generating reactors. Israel is bombing all of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
