What’s likely to evolve from Donald’s economic mess?
Since evolution’s messy, pundits mostly have to guess.
First, Donald’s causing chaos; now we’ll watch selection work.
(A hint: the markets don’t approve when chaos runs amok.) (1)
We know that Trump likes tariffs, for he has the sole control.
And, whether they are wise or not, Trump’s letting the dice roll. (2)
Most analysts have counselled that our prices will go up.
As other nations “tariff back,” all markets may blow up.
Trump tariffs “them;” they tariff us; the shit has hit the fan.
And why does Trump slap tariffs on? It’s just because he can.
A needless trade war here at home but Canada won’t yield,
How many casualties will fall on Donald’s battlefield?
Is Donald calculating or just following instinct?
Whichever, Donald Trump may drive democracy extinct.
And, internationally, Donald serves as Putin’s stooge.
At home and overseas, Trump’s actions bring on the deluge.
A lot of Donald’s orders seem to just be for revenge,
So ill-considered, most of our economists just cringe.
Trump punishes big law firms representing “enemies.”
Who are Donald’s “enemies?” Anyone who disagrees.
Diplomacy and economics, Donald’s own “shit list:”
The message is: “Don’t disagree or Donald will get pissed.”
Must the whole world be governed now by Donald’s every whim?
Will Donald Trump be Chicxulub, prognosis just as dim? (3)
Tyrannosaurus Rex was once the biggest, “baddest ass.”
An asteroid smacked Yucatan and wiped out that whole class.
Is Donald Trump Tyrannosaurus or the asteroid?
Or maybe something lesser, just a bleeding hemorrhoid?
(1) The stock market is currently in freefall. (May 10, 2025)
(2) Julius Caesar said, “Alea jacta est,” “Let the dice fly, “when crossing the Rubicon River with his legions. This was forbidden by Roman Law because it threatened a military takeover of government. You may recall that this ended badly for Julius (and the Roman Republic.)
(3) About 66 million years ago, an asteroid, estimated to be six miles wide, struck right near the current Pueblo of Chicxulub on the northern shore of the Yucatan peninsula. The “nuclear winter” that it caused is thought to have led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Furry animals survived. It’s from these that we’re derived.
