Did Donald first get a permit to build his gold ballroom?
He started on his own say-so, is what we must assume.
He tore part of the White House down on his authority
And claimed that our “security” was his priority.
The Capital Planning Commission finally said, “yes,”
To Donald’s self aggrandizement, at which he’s a success.
The source of funds is sketchy: right now, here’s the way it looks:
The cost is near a billion bucks, and someone cooked the books.
Redoing the Reflecting Pool to make the bottom blue,
Trump made a great big culture dish where blue-green algae grew.
Because of sloppy work, the bottom coating came unglued,
Which Trump called “vandalism,” but the honest press poo-pooed.
The blue-green algae first evolved three billion years ago.
And they just started on their own, when they began to grow.
They had a no-bid contract, just the same as Donald’s deal.
And they evolved without permits, was that their main appeal?
Trump now says he will start his Arch. Again, who has approved?
The Congress has not acted yet, but Donald is unmoved.
He frankly doesn’t care if some objectors file a suit.
For, if he starts it right away, the question may be moot.
Now Trump just spent a million bucks on ads that say he’s great.
Taxpayers have picked up the tab, and got no bargain rate.
So, Donald Trump promotes himself and we pick up the bill.
The old expression for this is: swallow a bitter pill.
With Donald’s name up everywhere, plus ballrooms, arches, pools,
Now, isn’t it past time to ask if Trump thinks we’re all fools?
Historians will get his case once Donald’s dead and gone.
Will they treat him like Jesus Christ or just a sleazy con?
