Now Russia’s helping out Iran, so what has Donald done?
He’s lifted Russia’s oil embargo. Looks like Putin’s won.
Now Putin’s making money, buying rockets, buying drones,
Which he aims at Ukrainians, who must carve more gravestones.
Pete Hegseth tells us we have won but Donald won’t make peace.
“The terms aren’t right” for Donald yet, so bombing will not cease.
What are the terms that Donald wants? Perhaps total control
Of shipping lanes through Hormuz Strait, (then Trump could charge a toll.}
Gas prices rise but that’s OK, for we must sacrifice
To win this war, (to make Trump king) perhaps that would suffice,
Controlling energy, the press, commanding loyalty,
Eventually, to rule the world, then immortality.
But immortality has flaws; “immortals” are all dead.
King Tut is an example, as we have all seen and read.
We’ve got his mummy, his gold mask, his jewels and his throne.
Museum goers stare at him while he lies there alone.
Is that what Trump envisions, mummy in an open tomb?
While history books describe his life and tourists fill the room?
For human immortality comes with a caveat:
You may live on in memory, but memory, just that.
You cannot spend your money and your pimp has died in jail.
Young ladies unavailable, that Jeff brought you to nail.
Historians describe you and they may be quite unkind.
You can be sure you have no secrets that these folks won’t find.
Perhaps not Tut but Jesus Christ is who you’d want to be,
A big, Last Supper seder, with your favorite recipe.
But, after that, the crucifixion, Christ endured that, too.
Don’t count on resurrection; that tale may be untrue.
Don’t plan on being worshipped: scripture verses, liturgy,
The songs composed about you may be in a minor key.
Though Jesus rose to heaven, don’t assume that you will too.
Saint Peter’s records are complete and hell may be your due.
