Because Trump fears what voters think, he’ll try to squelch the vote.
His government is poisonous, our vote, the antidote.
Autocracy is Donald’s goal, plus profits for his purse.
As our republic gasps for breath, Trump still could make it worse.

Should Democrats win midterms, Donald thinks he’ll be impeached.
That’s rational, considering the depths that he has reached.
Perhaps his lowest racist post: Obamas shown as apes, (1)

Like tomcats marking territory, Donald spreads his name.
He thinks his name on buildings gives him everlasting fame.
The Lincoln monument reminds us of the slaves he freed,
While Donald’s name on buildings only shows us where he’s peed.

Trump has no thought of service, only self-aggrandizement;
That’s the main course for narcissists, not just a condiment.
Some greedy rich kowtow to him, for profits they might make.
Low information bigots don’t care if he’s on the take.

Will Trump send ICE to polling sites, harassing those in line?
And mostly in blue cities where the Democrats align? (2)
Will Trump cancel elections, making up some false excuse?
And, will our courts protect us, stopping Donald’s planned abuse?

Trump’s thirst for power and money is, by now, well-known to all.
We have one chance to stop him, that is with our votes this fall.
Republicans and Trump must feel the wrath of the bourgeois.
Make him a quacking, lame duck, then we’ll dine on Trump’s foie gras. (2)

Trump knows that he’s unpopular; let’s validate his fear.
If we don’t rise up, our democracy will disappear.
We can’t let Trump burn our republic on its funeral bier.
