How easily sleaze has become normalized,
How easily Trump has become canonized,
How shamefully Congressmen kneel to abuse,
How easily Donald has metastasized.

A horse in a hospital is running loose. (1)
With Speaker Mike Johnson as Donald’s papoose,
Wrapped tight and transported in Trump’s fanny pack,
While Elon’s discarded, of no further use.

The Congress and judges are under attack.
One wonders if they’ll ever take power back.
Our highest court lets Donald Trump break the law,
As our institutions are starting to crack.

You might think that Trump would get stuck in our craw,
That he’d nauseate us with each pitch and yaw,
But we’re letting Donald umpire the whole game.
A man who has shown no respect for the law.

We know that we only have ourselves to blame,
That we all should be hanging our heads in shame,
Because we’ve let Donald call all strikes and balls,
An umpire whose trousers are always aflame.

We’ve voted to let Donald make all the calls.
The Roberts Court’s deference simply appalls.
How easily Trump’s sleaze has been sanitized.
We’ll have no excuse when democracy falls.
