A bill before the Congress: the SAVE America Act, (1)
Would help Trump rig elections, which the Congress won’t enact.
The bill would let the White House rule whom states allow to vote.
If our democracy’s a ship, this bill would sink the boat.

With Trump in charge of voter rolls, who knows whom he would cut?
The usual suspects, dark-skinned folks, would be punched in the gut.
All folks who might be liberals should also fear the axe.
These groups, when Donald speaks, are always those whom he attacks.

If you’re a married woman and you took your husband’s name,
You will not be allowed to vote; you’re tossed out of the game.
Your birth certificate and driver’s license will not match.
You are the kind of fraudster Donald’s voting rules will catch.

The Ship of State is in a storm and Trump closed all the ports.
He’s gilding the whole White House, gelding Congress and the courts.
He’ll put his name up everywhere; and rename Washington.
If you think things could not get worse, well Trump has just begun.

Like autocrats of old, Trump wants to sit upon a throne,
Where every whim becomes a law, all power, his alone,
Where he controls the courts, the Congress, every single thing.
