Just a reminder that this year Dr. Stephen Baird and The Opossums of Truth will be performing three Darwin Birthday concerts that celebrate evolution and it’s implications.
Celebrate with evolutionists all over the world, as we commemorate the birth of Charles Darwin who had one of the best ideas of all time – the Theory of Evolution. Dr. Stephen Baird & Opossums of Truth will be performing three Darwin Birthday concerts this year as they spread the gospel according to Darwin. Come to all the concerts because songs will vary at each performance. Join scientists, rationalists, and humanists with a sense of humor as the band again delights San Diego audiences.
Our first concert will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 in the Hillcrest area at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego on 4190 Front Street, San Diego. Come hear the band perform the Darwin birthday concert favorites that you have come to know well enough to sing along with the band. This year, The Opossums will focus on the problems caused by Intelligent Design proponents. To fill out the program, the band will again sing Humanistic folk songs and perhaps throw in a political song or two. The Opossums of Truth will continue the seasonal celebration with a tribute to Charles Darwin as they perform humorous songs about science and rationality, with a little bit of political satire thrown in. Of course, there will be the required Darwin tribute, but because of Valentine’s Day and Saturday date night, scientific love songs will complement the evening concert.
