An den Narzissmus, (lines composed at our No Kings Rally) (1)

Trump is narcissism; he defines the word.
Raising middle fingers, we flip him the bird.
Donald’s narcissism makes him really sick,
A would-be dictator, and a total dick.

We’ll not have a monarch, Putin, Xi, or Kim.
Even when Trump threatens, we won’t kneel to him.
Power to the people! No autocracy!
No despotic tyrants in democracy!

Donald’s narcissism drives him to be king.
But this land is our land; hear the people sing! (2)
If you seek Trump’s favor, be subservient.
All his sycophants though, are incompetent.

Donald hates “Antifa.” Fascists are preferred? (3)
Could Trump be a fascist? That is not absurd.
Generals have said so, those who knew him well.
Kelly, Mattis, Milley, Trump made their lives hell.

At No Kings Day’s dawning, Donald practiced putts.
Protesters were chanting, Donald is a putz.
Trump cheats on the golf course without consequence.
Private life and public, reek of fraudulence.

From the grave, Jeff Epstein still haunts Donald’s brain.
Whom did Donald diddle? It’s an old refrain.
Will he join Prince Andrew, former Duke of York,
Both consigned to hellfire, redolent roast pork?

As No Kings Day rallies sprang up everywhere,
All were peaceful protests in a festive air.
All throughout the nation, freedom strengthening.
Peaceably protesting, we will have no king!

(1)Compare with An die Freude by Joseph Schiller. Beethoven put his
words to music in the last movement of his Ninth Symphony.
(2)Listen to Do You Hear the People Sing, in Les Miserables, by
Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil and This Land is Your Land,
by Woody Guthrie.
(3)Antifa is a general movement against fascism, not a specific
organization. Trump does not view opposition to fascism favorably.
