Solana Beach - June 28, 2002
After The Opossums of Truth were featured at the successful
Summer Solstice concert on June 23rd for Atheists United, they
revamped their song list to accommodate the Unitarians on July 7,
2002 at 10 a.m at the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
It is located at 1600 Buena Vista Drive, Vista, CA.
Invited for a return engagement, the Opossums will again give the
'sermon' in concert at the Sunday morning service. At this
service, the band will sing about what would really happen if all
children were allowed to pray in the public schools. Considering
the court decision on June 27th to remove "under God" from the
Pledge of Allegiance in CA public schools, Baird's words will
seem prescient, since it is the first song on the his new CD,
"Ain't Gonna Be No Judgment Day." Two new songs will be debuted
as well: "Magellan" is a ballad telling the story of the
explorer's travels because he believed in the shadow of the moon
more than the church's explanation of geography; "A Glimpse of
Heaven" will reveal more about black holes and star formation. As
with all Scientific Gospel concerts, they will start at The
Beginning and conclude with The End.
If you still have not purchased Dr. Baird's CDs, go to:
www.scientificgospel.com to buy "Ain't Gonna Be No Judgment Day,"
and www.evolvefish.com or www.psbrecords.com for "Hallelujah!
Evolution." CD's are now available at the UCSD campus bookstore,
Tower Records in La Jolla, Buffalo Brothers Vintage Guitars in
Carlsbad, and online at www.evolvefish.com. In the meantime, remember, EVOLUTION IS THE WAY and YOU REALLY CAN TURN A FISH INTO A MAN.
